PHOTOS: Algiers Point home is filled with treasure
A ship's captain built a home in Algiers Point in 1871. Today that home belongs to Vinnie Pervel and Gregg Harris, but the captain might still feel at home there. The two have lavishly appointed it with Victorian-era antique furnishings and art, as well as eclectic personal collections, from miniature cars to antique weapons. Learn more about the striking home here.

The upstairs office was inspired by a German pub. Maple paneling and wainscoting crafted from salvaged antique doors cover the walls. The cabinet displaying Pervel’s collection of miniature cars and antique bottles was built using salvaged architectural pieces he collected over the years.
